Mode A — fixed fare, wallet or cash
You see a single, upfront fare before you book, calculated from distance, time and current demand. It does not change during the trip.
You pay with your wallet or in cash. Teriya only takes a commission on the platform's share — what you pay the driver for the trip itself stays between you and them.
Mode B — fixed fare, fully digital
Same upfront fixed fare, paid entirely through the app by mobile money, card or wallet. Nothing changes hands in cash.
Driver earnings are settled to them daily, and the applicable taxes are withheld and reported automatically, so the driver does not have to.
Mode C — name your own price
Instead of accepting a set fare, you propose the price you want to pay. Nearby drivers see your offer and can accept it or counter.
This is a negotiation between you and the driver, not a fixed settlement — you agree on a price together before the trip begins.
What the upfront price includes
A fixed fare reflects the estimated distance and duration of your route, plus any surcharge when demand is high in your area.
Tolls or specific fees, where they apply, are shown before you confirm so there are no surprises at the end.
Why a price can change
On a fixed-fare trip the price only changes if you change the trip — for example by adding a stop, changing the destination, or making the driver wait beyond the included time.
When that happens, the app updates the fare and shows you the new total.
Currency
Fares are shown in your local currency and are always whole amounts — there are no hidden fractions of a unit.
Your receipt after every trip itemises exactly what you paid.
